Thanksgiving timing

Hi, so I am hosting Thanksgiving and I have a simple timing question. How long before the turkey is served should I tell people to arrive? I was think an hour, or is that too long? Would 30-45 minutes be better? We'll have a champagne toast and people can chit chat. I'll be able to socialize for a few minutes, but then I'll have to get the turkey out of the oven, let it rest and make the gravy. Then I'll go socialize while hubby carves. At the last minute all the other stuff comes out of the warming oven and we serve. My sisters will want to help and they will probably be in the kitchen with me, but all the real cooking will be done. So, what is the optimal amount of appetizer and cocktail time? We serve at 4pm and there will be about 18 adults and 8 kids (but it could swell to more if out of towners join). I'll have crafts and games for the kids to keep them happy.
