Tricky question. I have had successes and failures with receiving hoyas in all seasons. For ME, right now, and in late April, are actually the best times to order. It's not too cold, nor is it too hot, and the weather in Thailand is just right.

In 3 weeks, we will have had out first frost here in Arkansas. Can't you get a faster shipping?

I have found it is WAY safer to get plants when it is cold than when it is hot. They are pretty protected by the box and packing. But if I was spending a lot of money, I would wait for perfect conditions...

It's on eBay and the seller has standard international shipping. I haven't bought it yet. Now to decide whether to get Hoya pubicalyx rhp or Hoya densifolia.

Of those two, I would say the pubicalyx is the hardier. It is easily obtainable in the states though.

Living in Pa. I have a simple formula for ordering plants in cold weather---if nights are reliably above freezing, I'll order; once temps fall into the 20's overnight on a regular basis I'll wait until Spring....It's worked for me so far :)

Ebay purchase from Thailand? I hope you aren't illegally smuggling plants without phytosanitary certificates into the country.
