low humidity in homes often causes brown tipping as does watering with tap water (and not rinsing out the soil often enough).

What type of water do you recommend??

reverse osmosis, or distilled, or just water that has sat out for a while for most of the salts to either settle out or evaporate away. But reverse osmosis best.
