What is the mirror going to reflect often above a fireplace they reflect nothing worth seeing twice I would go with a nice piece of art get rid of that table in front of the shelves and get a proper sized coffee table that little tub chair can go and the drapes have no connection to the room

No mirror. You need colorful artwork (if you have it) or a combination of art and decor that fits your style.

One more thing. The mirrored lamps would work better if you moved them to opposite side on each side. Then you other pieces to the outer sides. They should also be closer to art work.

I noticed the lacy coral? black piece so it reminded me of this fixture. There are so many ways you can go, so I'll just give you a few "looks" to consider. This is the key element in your space, so find something you love and works with your eclectic choices and neat art and special furniture pieces. Great room!

Aged gold is raging back into style and it goes with the style of your room. This might be too formal, but it is interesting.

With the style of your black leather chair and ottoman, this one comes to mind.

this combines the black and aged gold. So maybe these will get your creative juices flowing. Since you already have some nice framed art, I am leaning toward a great mirror and a great chandelier to hang and reflect in it. The mirror style will depend on this choice. The mirror size is a variable I haven't calculated yet. But I will. Be back later!

OK mirror can be as wide as the black border of your fireplace, because you have additional wall space left and right. It can be about as high as 8-12" from ceiling break and about 4-6" above fireplace black border. Not sure what that size is? The frame for the mirror will need to coordinate with light fixture of course.

If you went with black on chandelier, this is interesting choice for a mirror. These are for "concept" because I don't know exact sizing needs. Just to give you ideas.

This mirror would reflect lots of different directions which would be nice and it has the "look" of your lamps.

There are loads of mirrors out there but you will have to measure and give us the wall front height and width, and the width of your fireplace so we can better size your mirror, IF that is direction you want to go.

Completely agree with choosing the light fixture first and letting the mirror or art work reflect the fixture. Overlaying the rug with a bright area rug and re-orienting the seating to focus on the fireplace (means moving the small barrel chair to a new location) and maybe some nesting tables adjacent to seating rather than a big coffee table might serve you better for entertaining and just hanging out with family.

I tried the small table lamps in a different position, but it's not my favourite look.

I wasn't descriptive enough about the lamps. They need to be further away from fireplace wall and closer to art. Almost overlapping art. Try that. The higher items scale wise work better on outer sides to stop the eye.

I'm browsing the Internet for ceiling lights. It's not easy to find something that fits the interior style, my taste, my husbands taste and my budget. So far nothing really. I guess I have to make visits to our local lighting stores. It's better to see the light fixtures in person.
