I've read that it depends on the covering over the LEDS that make them look like Fluorescent tubes.

I've read that they advertise X K,where that is the LEDs rating before it's light goes through the plastic (usually) outer tube.

Also a lot of LED replacement tubes are designed to run on existing Fluorescent fixtures.

Easier for a Biz to afford the LED change...

Some you can just solder a power supply -DC,to the bulbs.

I'd check it out first ...

What king of horse you are buying specifically.

I used 5000-6500 K with no problems with Fluoro's.

T5's use about the same watts per Lumen as a lot of LEDS.But LEDS last a lot longer.

LED's are way cheaper than when I first started building my own panels.

A Lot more choices these days.

But a Lot of Data sheets are half truths.

I use 1 Watt stars,10mm and smaller LED's.

I use every nm as I can from 400-700nm.

Plant usable light in as high a Lm as I can get.

As far as LUX goes,I get about 50,000 at 18-22 in. on my shelves using horizontal and vertical panels.

Gotta turn them off to water or you see spots for a while.

I've been using LEDs,Home Grown built for years.

If I spent the same $ now It would have been a Lot Cheaper to get similar stuff as I made at at least 1/2 the price I paid.

But I have been getting XLNT results from my 1 watt or lower red and blue LED's for a lot of years.

Until they fail,I see no reason to change in any way.

LED tech changes so often,like Computers.You use stuff until it fries,then hope what you buy next works better,for a longer time...

I grow a lot of plants in 4 1/2 in. pots for a pod or 2(seeds),then they go outside.

I tried white LEDs back then,they didn't have the LM I wanted.

The ones I researched Years ago where K impaired or LM impaired.

I should have gone with all the ranges of Blue or red , red is a pot thing-at the time.

Only thing I found out for peppers was red made short hedge like plants and blue made taller less compact plants.

No difference on fruiting.
