Any could look fine. If you don't have any strong feelings, then chrome or nickel are the safer choices. That chrome looks more interesting than average -- has some variance in the finish -- so that could fit your modern farmhouse image well.

Polished nickel or chrome for sure. It will give you that modern edge that you are looking for.

Chrome. You can mix metals and do brass in lighting

I'd go with brushed gold, myself. That's what's in right now and could be your modern touch.

I just did the brushed gold/brass on trend look, and I love it. But that's a great thing about hardware, it can easily be swapped out if you grow tired of it, and there are so many price points.

I agree, the brushed nickel thing looks builder grade and it is tired. I think that chrome is lovely and certainly vintage, but perhaps with a more retro slant, so if your'e going to more truly farmhouse, I would look at real matte brass that will tarnish over time, intentionally.

We have butler's pantries with original hardware, and its true old brass with patina, and it is lovely.

With the carrerra I could see chrome or polished nickel. If you use brass, avoid the green undertones seen in the inexpensive brass hardware.

Go for the Gold if you love it! Is it trendy? Sure, but it's only hardware. If you stick with some standard centers like 3" for bin pulls you should have no problem replacing them in ten years when brushed nickel is all the rage again. Cabinet Hardware is such an easy and inexpensive thing to update! As far as latches are concerned. Are you using an inset door? If no, that's the end of the latches. If yes, think it through. While cool to look at, they are not practical for high use cabinets and they can be problematic on double door cabinets (especially ones with a center stile!)

The latches look like a pain in the butt for everyday practical use. I would skip them. Maybe you can add detail in the hinges and use the latches on select very upper cabinets that u don't use everyday

While I didn't choose latches for my kitchen proper, there are latches in one of the pantries. I have to open those doors often to get plates and other items. I do not find them annoying to open at all, and they just shut and relatch when you push the doors closed. Mine are as old as the house, so late 1800s, and they still open and shut fine.

Im mentioning this simply because I personally do not find the latches to be a pain for everyday use. But at the same time, knobs are of course simpler.

I am going through the same decision making process, chrome or polished nickel. Tah Mahal counter in leathered. i have latches on my current cabinets and my new house will have latches in the pantry i love they way they look. They are not an issue at all with opening and closing. So, if you like them, I would go for it. They will look great with your farmhouse/cottage theme Hope that helps.
