My post to share my story, successes and growing adeniums. :-)

First up - I got to see one adenium in bloom on my holiday Sept 2016. What a treat. Growing wild in it's native environment in a South African game reserve. :-) This is the 'sabi star' of my childhood and always one of my favourite flowers. Only ever seen on holiday if we were lucky.

Imagine my delight in Summer Dec 2015 when I saw a small plant for sale at the local hardware and nursery. It grew beautifully for me until I loved it to death in winter July 2016 by overwatering and cold. It was in desperation to save my beloved plant that I discovered all you wonderful people. :-)

My original was beyond saving and since then I've bought a few and lost one other plant. I still have two plants alive coming into Spring October 2016

Undaunted and still enthused, I joined the Community Grow Out 2016 - my August seeds died. I planted the rest of the batch 22 Oct 2016 Spring. So far 2 have germinated 26 Oct 2016. yay :-)

At the same time as the original grow out in August 2016, I planted several seeds received from local Australian growers (and a couple from KO - I think) They all survived 6 weeks baby sitting and were shared with a friend. Now 2 months old, they're looking OK I think. They're still living indoors with morning sunlight and window light only.

And then last of all, my latest batch of planting - including the Grow out seeds. A variety of seeds from KO and local growers. Included in there is a mimosa and a baobab. Planted in half cacti / half perlite mix. Heavily misted once on planting and covered for 4 days - until I saw sprouting. I have damp-off or mould so will dust tray with tumeric and spray / water with camomile tea and open up for fresh moving air.

Sorry about the bad phone photos, but thanks for letting me share. I've learnt so much from reading your stories, and I'm hoping to one day show you beautiful blooms that you have helped me grow.
