I doubt you have to do anything, but to be sure I would google the type you have and "hardiness." Colocasia are more cold hardy than Alocasia. If yours is colorful (not solid green), it is probably an Alocasia, but there are several varieties of each type.

Because you're in a cold climate it's probably safer to take them into a protected environment.

Alocasia about 80 species/subspecies. On the other hand Colocasia only has about 10 species/subspecies, but Colocasia esculenta has something like 2000 varieties/cultivars and there are many different conditions they need. It's one of the longest cultivated plants by humans. Selective breeding over a long time has produced the varieties, along with breeding for ornamental purposes more recently.
