Need dining room help

We are moving into a new home in a couple of weeks. We need to keep the drapes that are in the new house and our dining table. I am thinking about changing the chairs we have to some Crate and Barrel leather dining chairs in a light blue color. The chairs go off sale before we are actually in the house and I'm wondering if I should order them or not? I'm also thinking about some other styles. First pictures are new house with green and blue drapes and the sellers dining furniture. The next pictures are our table (need to keep for now) and then the pictures of Crate and barrel chairs and some other ideas... I need advice!

I agree with the other poster. They're a nice match with drapes and definitely do help update your table. The window treatments are actually quite nice and keeping them saves you several hundred dollar. You're fortunate. Beautiful space by the way!

Oops I put in the wrong picture for the blue leather chairs. This is the Crate and Barrel chairs I'm thinking about.

The pictures changed order on me. The first picture is our oak trestle style table that we are keeping.

I think it will look good with your table, much better than the wooden chairs,cand look good with the curtain's color. I think it helps your table move away from being too country if that's the direction you want to go?

Thanks Anne and Katie in Paradise. The drapes are nice- the colors work for me. I'm just having a little trouble with the plaid/checks. I don't want to clash with other patterns. Also my furniture is darker so I'm thinking the blue chairs will lighten it up a bit. But I was also wondering about something like this... with wooden (black or dark brown) and cloth chairs?

The plaid in your drapes is very "neutral" in pattern. You will be amazed at how many wonderful other patterned fabrics will coordinate! Stripes and florals will both look great as long as you have a tie-in to the color family. Also, find out what C&B's return policy is and perhaps your move-in will happen before that expires just in case you get into your new house and happen to not like the chairs for some reason. They look like a pretty safe bet to me though!

I think the blue chairs are a better bet with the oak table. They give it a more modern feel. As janiekjones said, plaids are pretty easy to coordinate with other prints. Florals, ikats, suzanis, any of those will work with your plaid.

Good idea about the return policy of Crate and Barrel chairs. I will look into it. Thanks for the comments! It helps a lot about the drapes and patterns.

I love the blue chairs! If you want to update the look of your oak table, you could simply replace the legs with vintage industrial table legs and then use a dark glaze on the oak or strip the shiny finish off and apply a dark tinted bees wax. Here are some examples of industrial table legs I found on eBay.
