John deere stx38 transaxle

I have a John deere stx38 yellow deck that blew out the transaxle. oil/grease everywhere from a hole in the tub...

As I look around for used transaxles online they all have different numbers but look mostly the same. can I just get any peerless 5speed that has the same casing and connections?

The original transaxle is a Peerless 801 series. The Peerless 820 is available as an upgrade and it is the heavy duty GT rated transaxle. Check this out http://roms-peerless-transaxle-supply.ecrater.com/p/8634638/peerless-820-transaxle-upgrade-conversion-for-deere-100
