Spring Flush - Pretty in Pink

Here is to celebrating the pink!

First cab off the rank is a new one, "Coconut Ice" by Kordes- so far I think its only available in Australia- no fragrance, but very healthy so far

next is Duchesse de Brabant - sadly afflicted with mildew this year

then Eiffel Tower- love those long buds.

Hermosa- also suffering from mildew- this pic was from last month, she looks worse now...

Pretty Jessica- has been a bit flower shy the last couple of seasons, but after repotting and extra fertilizer, has started blooming again like a champ. But yep, that is a touch of PM you see on the leaves. First time in 4 years...

No idea what this is! Bought it bareroot as Souvenir du President Carnot; kept it because it seems impossible to kill and flowers a lot, even in heat. Looks like it wants to climb tho..

One of my favourites, Redoute

And the last one- Bought as Sharifa Asma, I'm assuming its either another Redoute sporting back to Mary Rose, or vice versa

How nice of you to show us your spring roses, as we are "winding down", for winter.

Ahhhh!!! Love love pink!!! And that coconut ice!! Wow! Hope it comes quickly to the US! Love the Kordes roses. Keep the pics coming... like Ingrida said... we are winding down here sniff sniff!

Only had it a few months, but so far I'm feeling optimistic about Coconut Ice :) the flowers seem to start out cupped then flatten out - still cute tho.

I'm enthralled with Coconut Ice, the color and shape are both wonderful. Sorry you're experiencing mildew, but my garden is always afflicted with it in spring. It will go away when it gets warmer. I'm sorry you didn't get the genuine Souvenir du President Carnot, which is really beautiful. Mine unfortunately didn't thrive for very long. Pretty Jessica is still lovely, and I hope it grows out of whatever is ailing it.

Love your pinks. The mislabeled Souvenir du President Carnot looks like a happy carefree rose. Redoute is gorgeous! Apparently hybridizers like the name Coconut Ice. 5 of them have used it! Thanks for posting your pictures of it at HMF.

Ingrid, I've had powderery mildew for the first time in 20 years on some roses this past season. Strange.

Your pinks are beautiful! Coconut Ice looks like a great rose, it's lovely! They're all very nice.

PM was worse than usual last year, but this year has been reaching epic proportions in the garden; about %80 seem to have a trace of it, even formerly clean roses. I'm just trying to ignore it and waiting til it goes away, while considering that if its going to be the new normal, I might have to look at disposing of the worst offenders.

So happy that Coconut Ice seems free of it so far- I bought a bare root Fire Fighter around the same time, and it seems to have some, grr
