The Original ('Bailmer') actually. Now they have several of them they call The Endless Summer Collection, with this one being The Original.

If you like The Original ('Bailmer') maybe try one or two of the others. I've had The Original ('Bailmer') for some years but the flowers seem to be somewhat delicate and ephemeral. And I'm not wild about mop-heads. Twist-n-Shout ('PIIHM-I') seemed quite to my taste at first, with one local vendor having big tubbed ones that were quite impressive - like hybrid rhododendrons in bloom, with attractive clusters evenly distributed throughout the surface of the bush. But the smaller specimen I bought and planted has been basically a bust - even after being moved from sun to shade. Stock presented at outlets here in later years seems to be similarly runty. It's as though the clone quickly lost vigor over the course of repeated mass propagation.

New blooms are a good thing, littlebug! ;o) I have a non-rebloomer hydrangea that gave me a new, single bloom a few weeks ago. I have also noticed two, and I mean just two, little, tiny new blooms in one of my quince bushes. I guess the transition from hot to milder Fall temps triggers some of my shrubs to put a little late show. But I actually did not expect it this year because while our Fall temps have been mild, they keep returning back into the 90s now and then. It is like Mother Nature does not want to let go of the summer temps! Ha!

Embothrium, I have been monitoring a T&S that someone else planted and it seems to be doing well here in the south (it was planted about 2 yrs ago... on the ground, not containers) so maybe you had a "bad" specimen or the smaller specimen needs more time (typically, they need about 3 years to become established). Down here, too little moisture, too much sun and inconsistent watering are the usual trouble makers on new hydrangeas. Just wondering, if the larger T&S looked so good, how come you bought the smaller T&S instead? I would have picked the larger T&S...
