These 2x4 tiles are about 50 pounds per module, thats roughly 6.25 lbs per sq ft

We are designing a roof deck for a client in the NYC metro area, that needs a flooring solution. As with many roof decks the sun is oppressive... I am not familiar with your tiles and don't know if they retain heat? Although this clients' urban victorian is historic (1860's) the roof deck is over an extension and has a brand new roof on it. Question re drainage: I see that your tiles use pedestals... are there any issues with water damage in the area where the pedestals sit? Thanks

we do lots of deck projects in NYC and we store our products in Keasbey NJ. So our sotck is close to your project. You dont necessarily have to use pedestals, they can also be installed on sleepers, or foam blocks, or just standard clip fasteners whcih raise the floor just enough to allow drainage (about 1.75 total height) drainage is never an issue, as long as it drains now it will drain in the same way with the tiles on top. Ipe tiles retain less heat than ceramichs or stone as the gapping allows for full 100% air flow between the boards, so they never really get scorching like a dark stone would. We have done quite a few historic restoration building/decks with our Ipe deck panels as they are a timeless decking solution and they tend to have a nice patina that looks great with historic motif.
