Of course open to all other suggestions for the room.

It said color is taupe. When I went to bb and beyond to see the curtains I already have, there was a pic on the site someone posted of them with additional panels like those. But, we shall see... The pillows looked interesting. Was thinking about the diff texture suggestions...
Waiting on the floating shelves to have a few more projects before asking my handy man to come by. And then I'll see if those ottomans fit under before buying more stools and or coffee table ottoman.
Ok, I'll send pics as soon as stuff arrives. Thanks again

I think it'll look great! And ok pics soon:)))
No need to try to change too much at one time. Best to pace yourself
  • 9 years ago

    Yeh solid!

Ok.. I hope you guys didn't forget about me. The pillows are great. The plant was too short but I found a spot for it else where.
The curtains: I think they are too dark next to mine but I have an idea. Can I put 4 linen panels on the Windows and put 4 on door? Do they need to both have same?
    Thoughts???

And take notice of my impulse purchase at home goods in between the chairs
  • 9 years ago

Impulses can be plus-es! I like that it echoes the natural color of your canvas! Is it brass/bronze.. nice. :)

Pillows good - and strong minty! like the wall.....

I'd have to go find a photo where 2nd type curtains would even go --- but since they are semi-sheer only [not thicker] and about color of chair, it's not so bad.... and cuts the use of pattern [in half?!]

Of course of course I have to say I like the linen panels but I really do and everything else you've done. You come a lonnnng way-looking so much better!

You shouldn't have two separate sets of curtains dressing each window in this room. So best as is now. And so you're in agreement about the white now? Haha! See I'm not crazy. But I think these curtains look good too. Can you even them out?
However I would say if if were me, I'd go w the original thought of white sheers.
I have come to terms with the fact that I will be making yet another trip to bed bath and beyond. Returning the beige curtains. (I do like them on their own, though..) And getting the grommet sheer whites.
Hahahahah. Oh Rochel. Well maybe get those curtains first and compare, before returning one pair? Are you not liking the white sheers? If that's the problem, we can come up w something else
  • 9 years ago
    Nah. I have no preference.
Haha...ok sounds good. Excited to see the sheers too:)

Thinking that there's enough probably ... without adding another neutral to windows. What exactly is wrong with the current ones.... missed it? I see a good number of solid with pattern curtains together....

Not adding sheers...sheers instead of the brown ones she just added. Original plan was to add two white sheers. She doesn't like the linen semi sheers she added (and I don't either tbh lol) so replace w white sheers

My question then - why not the current linen sheers? To me they don't seem dark.

Well we will see what she says. To me, I like sheers to be lighter than the curtains:)
    And changes?
I just got these. Believe it or not, they did not have any sheer grommet panels in the store I went to. Since I was already there, I decided to give these a try.
I think I like more of white one showing

Light curtains seem better than the medium.... yeah!

I have these same curtain in my dining room from Bed, Bath and beyond. I love them. I have only the curtains no sheers under them.

wish I could find more. I love them.

I wish you would have seen this discussion earlier! My first mistake was using the wrong curtain rod. You have 3 on one. It looks great. And Nancy, they have plenty more of those. On line and in most stores.
Omg Rochel. Those new white curtains look sooo much better. I think that's what I would stick w! Sorry this hasn't been the easiest curtain-shopping experience for you lol w all the returns before hahaha. But I think these are keepers!
I just put them up by the sliding doors and they seem to work very well there.
This is all a learning process. It's about details.
Yes it is:) are you still on board w the black frame idea?
Maybe it's time for coffee table now?

    Very nice in both homes!
Yes to both. Does it need to be a customized frame? Are there Frames sold that thick?
Still debating about media stand. The floating shelves are a good idea, but hiding the wires and plugs behind ottomans is not ideal. We had the wires put behind walls but there are still some exposed. And I really hate the sight of tangled wires. So I think I'm gonna buy a piece in the end.
Have you measured the width, height, and depth of your art?

    This site has canvas frames.

    http://www.jerrysartarama.com/3-4-inch-deep-illusions-floater-frames?gclid=Cj0KEQiA1b7CBRDjmIPL4u-Zy6gBEiQAsJhTMOBcNMQNZQ71no0qzbRMPCnsJYSLWymFsrgKA0j4-fgaAnne8P8HAQ

But if your canvas is some weird, non- standard size, than custom might be necessary. But first look around.

And I'm forgetting what you want in a coffee table...no sharp edges. And you didn't like the glass? Can you remind me why
  • 9 years ago
Oh ok from what I remember you want something like an ottoman. The thing is, another upholstered piece might look like too many upholstered pieces in here lol! No to velvet too?
I think you should try the two cubes in front of couch as one collective ottoman.
And not sold on the seagrass look or the green cubes posted earlier correct?
I think two cubes you already have are the answer
  • 9 years ago
The cubes are the coffee tables for now since the floor space is needed. I'm open to any suggestions for TV stand.
Ok I meant like this. Cause I know you were using the cubes as end tables, but they are wayyy too short for that. Would work as a collective ottoman (which is actually a pretty common thing to do)....similar to these pics:
If it already is like this, can you show us?
Just in case I confused you, this is what I meant (in front of couch like 14" away)
I really like your original pillow arrangement (in original conversation picture) with four of the same pillows on couch, but facing the different way to show the Greek key! It's almost as if they are two diff pillows when you see front vs back!
And after frame, coffee table, and console, I'd say lighting needs an upgrade (lamps and if you'd like, sconces or chandelier). It's not necessary to hardwire anything, because both sconces and chandeliers come in plug-in types.
Ok last post. I just want to say, lamps in here need to be three things: slender/not clunky, light in color since there's a lot of dark, and contemporary IMO. I'd do one on black end table and one floor lamp in between brown chair and couch.

Late to the party, but I think a Blue Chair would look pretty terrific. Refreshing!

Like the small print but you have print in your pillows so vote for one blue chair in a blue that would relate to other blues in the room.

Susan, a blue chair instead of which chair?
I guess you can say they are used as foot stools. Here's the thing, that is the den room. The room that I eventually will decorate with nicer furniture and decor is the living room. Here's a picture but I'll put on another design dilemma... I know I need a larger area rug and the room has not been painted since the early 60s... The couch is torn. The only things I purchased are the chairs, lamp and glass table.
Susan, what blues in the room? The curtains? I think they have green in them, but I have been told it looks more blue. I would sooner change the curtains than buy a chair. The funny thing is, (it's actually really funny) is that the dilemma started with accent chair question...
Yes those squares would 100% work as two ottomans in front of your couch. They are the right height and width to work:)!!
I would use them in front of couch just to make them look more cohesive.
And lol yes sorry....I think that often happens in Houzz where the original question turns into something much bigger hahah
  • 9 years ago
Love many of the elements of your living room. Wow very glam :)

I know it's been a while, but I said I would post when I got the media piece put in.
