I have a grow light at the top. A furnace heating everything to 90 degrees Fahrenheit A pot with seeds moist soil and mearical grow w/milk hoping i can get something to sprout up.
First of all, you don't need any light until after the seed sprouts. Second, 90 degrees might be a little hot. The general optimal range is 80-85F for germination on pepper seeds. Otherwise, good luck and keep us posted.
And what benefits are you hoping for by adding milk to Miracle Gro? If not careful you might just promote spoilage organisms which will defeat your purpose.
There are different things you could do like soak seed in KNO3 or Gibberellic acid but I've tried that and I can't endorse that either.
I agree, milk with temps in the 90's is probably going to smell rancid. Also I agree I would turn the heat down to 80 that's the ideal temp. Any reason you want all your seeds in one pot? It's difficult when roots become intangled when separating plants. Most do three to a pot and cull the weaker ones, leaving the healthiest seedling. If you don't want to cull dealing with three or less plants to seperate is better than a pot with 10. Lighting is not necessary until seedlings emerge. What kind of grow light do you have? Some put out heat and some do not, if yours does the temp could be over 90 degrees and fry your seeds.
Whaooo, I didn't see the "milk" in that post. I agree, you are asking for trouble there. I have never heard of using anything like milk to aid germination or growth.
I picked up the milk trick a long time ago and ive tested it and it works its and electric furnace and i dont even think it gets 90 degrees and i have the light there just because i can and i dont feel like putting it up there later and i only have about 3-5 seeds in the pot
I've come across the milk trick as well. It's supposed to supplement the soil with calcium and a couple other nutrients, can't remember which ones. I know a couple of people that say it works.
