I'm in the same boat brags... every order I tell myself "that's it for this year", but then a few weeks later.....

I have another 80 or so to be sowed (half of my last order) and another 120 on the way. Of those I will sow only 10 or so, then no more sowing seeds until Jan/Feb next year.

You both sound like just the ones I need to talk to. I am new at this and have just sprouted about 45 seeds. They came up over the weekend while I was gone. They are in a covered sprouting tray. What do I do next. Uncover them ? Bring them in the house ? They are I my heated greenhouse but it only warms up to about 55 if it's cold out.

Uncover gradually to let fresh air in. I would bring indoors for max warmth as you need to keep them warm and in a well lit spot, that's what they need now as I assume you are in the northern hemisphere with winter approaching? What type of mix are they in please? You need to keep them moist for a few weeks whilst at the small seedling stage but remember that wet and cold can kill them off easily. Need to know a few more details first.

Thanks again for info. I thought I had fixed the location thing earlier. Must not have been successful. I am in USA Georgia zone 8b. They are growing in cactus mix.

Ok now I don't feel as bad, lol. I only ordered minies from Ko and Rinoa, will be 40 seeds total. I also have a whole seedpod of simple pinks that I don't know what to do with.... They'll have to wait till spring and will be probably my rootstock victims... one day.

what's really fun/annoying is when you get a new order of seeds, and discover … 'hey I already had that one" so now you have 30 … I try to log them as I buy, but alas, to no avail ...

I have made a database in Excel where I number and name each variety, where I sourced them from and when I bought, sowed and repotted them.

Hubby keeps encouraging me to buy more seeds, for some strange reason. Hence the 800+ seedlings and another 300 seeds to be sown soon. But I've run out of space. HELP...

Try hydroponics? I hear it takes up less space. Build a greenhouse or get grow lights and turn a room into a full on grow room?

Maybe use seeds as currency to barter for varieties you don't have?

Depends on what you're growing them for. If it's for the caudex, take the ones with the best potential, axe the rest or give them away. If it's for the flowers, you could try perfecting your seedling grafting skills to at least see how it turns out.

I'd say sell them, but they're not really hardy until they've made it a full year.

well, i gotta leave a little space for my tomato and pepper plants. i already have the spare bedroom, the top shelves of the pantry, the top shelf of the closet - to the wife's dismay - the countertop and all the south windows … alas
