While Campsis radicans is not specifically named by the Hawaii Invasive Species Council ( http://dlnr.hawaii.gov/hisc/info/invasive-species-profiles/ ) you should be aware that all vines are rampant growers in Hawaii, and several vine species are named on the list. If you are considering importing the plant yourself, I would discourage you. If you are considering buying it from a nursery in Hawaii, but have concern about how it will behave in your garden, consider that the more rain you get in your location, the more likely the vine is to overwhelm its surroundings. Also consider your surroundings. Do you have a garden in a developed area that is easy to control? (Paved streets, concrete sidewalks, building density, etc.) Or do you bump up against forests or undeveloped land where the vine might find an uncontrolled foothold? Keep in mind, many seeds are spread by birds, and you may not know you have contributed to an invasive until it is too late.
