Bedrooms = room darkening. Sleep benefits from "dark". Only "morning people" like the SUPER LIGHT bedroom in the morning. And only 10-15% of the population are TRUE morning people (go to bed a 7pm and wake at 5pm naturally and happily). You've heard the saying "Early to bed; early to rise"...right. Those are morning people (known as "Larks" in the sleep industry).

If you are a true Lark (and so too your partner) then go ahead and get the light filtering for bedrooms. If you are NOT...then get room darkening for the bedrooms. Healthy sleep = Healthy human.

I love light filtering but have no problem with staying asleep. If I would have thought about more it carefully I would have chosen the bottom up kind because they are easier to leave open and still have privacy when you use only the bottom half. Mine are drop down.

Neither would work for me in a bedroom! I need blackout...room darkening is not even remotely close to blackout.

I went with blackouts cordless cellular shades this time around from blackout mini blinds.

I figure I stick with the same filtration type as before and only updated the styling. I know cellular shades will be harder to clean then the aluminum mini blinds.
