Bill, Cool looking plants. They look like Arabicums and second one w flower has a bloom of an Arabicum.

The first plant has had some root training earlier in it's life with the roots growing from around the caudex as they are.

Very nice.

Look as though they could use a potting up in the spring. Pots are a bit too small and the plants will grow much better in a larger pot. Change of soil at the time to freshen, may give you more leaves and blooms. I would do this in the Spring.

Thanks Rick. I have 3 more this size they all don't look like these 2 I think they are obesum. They have intrigued me so I have purchased about 20 more plants and have sprouted about 40 seed. Most are various colors. Socotranum, swazicum, samolense, I think that are their names. Some are grafted. I sorta go crazy when I start something. I'm potting them in cactus mix purchased from big box store. I have a lot to learn.

LOL! Hi, Bill. Just laughing because you remind me of me 3 months ago. Never heard of Adenium before June or July. Bought my 1st plant in August. Purchased and sewed seeds (only 10) later that same month. Purchased 7 more since then including 2 more today. My collection is currently at 22.

I should think you're in the right place! You'll find these are a great group of folks ever generous with suggestions and advice.

20 more plants. That is great. Names are correct, Swazicum, Somalense and Socotranum (true Socotranum) and TS (Thai Soco).

I can relate to sorta going crazy and it is not a bad thing.

As you may have read through out many Threads here, a lot of us use a Gritty type mix (all varying by what we each can get) and many use a mix similar to what you are speaking of. Just make sure to add a good amount of Perlite to the Catus mix.

I am sure you will do well. We all have to learn and if unsure, ask or even if you want to confirm something. We can all learn from this.

rule of thumb … when you think you have enough perlite, add another cup as you are potting up ...
