Located in the Pacific Northwest at 900 feet (near Portland Oregon), I want to add one bush, to be placed in front of the power head and transformer at the top of my driveway. I want something that won’t spread out too much, can easily be kept bush-sized and shaped, is deer and rabbit resistant, and can handle less than optimal drainage and some clay in soil. The actual drain problem is just down slope of it…gravel added to the parking area has prevented normal drainage of that hillside, and water pools above it, but does drain slowly under the driveway…so only poor drainage during and one day after moderate or heavy rain. The clay is jumbled in that area, so the bush should be able to find good soil.

IF there are possibilities within those requirements, second
level preferences include lighter or medium green leaves and larger
sized leaves, in that order.

When it grows up, I want it to totally hide the power head. We don't have
meter readers any more; user stats are all sent electronically now.
