Aaw ,what a healthy beauty. Looks like I have the same species as companions on the one cork. What is the one on the right upper corner. Mine has adorable teeny green lipped white flowers.

They are happy mounted or potted. I mount on cork. When potting, it is important that the plant is on the medium, not in it. Kinda mounted on the top of the pot. I live in Martin County Fl. About 30 miles north of Palm Beach. I feel that the best place in the 48 states to grow all brassavolas is south Florida. I contend that if us humans showed up another 1/2 million years later they would be a natural species here. They grow well in the landscape. Hybrids with brassavola also grow nicely here. A good deal of my success is due to where I live. In z8 I don't know what I would do. Good luck

I have several that need special needs, one restrepia. Which natural environment is living at the point where the clouds meet mountains. And it is constantly in bloom. I have some brassavola on a stick mount and is doing better but not thriving like I think it should. Cork , is it flat and just mounted across and all over it? We rescued these and brought them out of certain death. Thanks for all the help

This is what I mean by potting on the medium, not in. The roots will know the best route for the plant.

This is a cork mount. Tie it on with fine gauge single strand insulated wire. Many orchids love the texture that cork provides. Sometimes I take a very small amount of sphagnum moss stuffed in the cracks above the roots for a little drip action. I potted and mounted both plants 2 years ago...
