How Do I Overwinter Peppers?

Thanks chiliman, good info. I'll cut the plants back tomorrow before trimming the roots and repotting them to bring in next weekend to give them a chance to acclimate before being taken inside. Plan on using 50% perlite/50% ProMix. Your thoughts?

Sounds good. Overwintering peppers need less water so make sure you let your potting media dry out before watering.

Do you often have aphids, fungus gnats or other pest in your area? What I do after trimming down the branches and root mass, before re-potting in fresh medium, is to spray the whole plant with the hardest jet on my hose and then give the roots a soak in water with some hydrogen peroxide added (about 1/5 by volume) for 10-15 minutes. It's no guarantee, but I've had lots of success avoiding bugs this way.
