Most of the readily available adeniums are obesum, and they do not require dormancy as long as they are receiving enough light and heat.

For seedlings, I use a peat based material like potting soil, and keep it moist. I place the seeds in a very light depression horizontally. I do not cover them at all, but you may cover a bit.

You can grow them from cuttings, although they will never develop a true caudex. I recommend dipping in rooting hormone, drying for a few days, and placing in a small clear container so you can watch the roots. You will have greater luck if you do this in the spring/summer, or when you can provide bottom heat. The soil should be moist, but do not recommend watering again until leaves start growing. If needed, water in very small amounts.

I notice that seeds are being soaked. Is this necessary? Do plants normally develop more than one seed pod? Harvest seeds after pod splits and sow immediately? Thanks for your help!

As with all seeds, the fresher they are the higher the germination rate. However, these will keep well in a cool dry place.
