Are those not absolutely stunning??? I'll bet you enjoy each day that you look at them. Heck, I enjoy looking at them myself...People like you will never allow a spider mite to hike on your trees or a blossom go unnoticed...Amazing job in that porous mix with the right fertilizers and regimen..You should be proud of yourself))

Beautiful Jinny!!! They look great! I love your ST and Genoa lemon! My ST has two buds now that I hope will grow into fruit. The leaves are huge aren't they?? I am still lusting after that Genoa lemon...one of these days! Great job!!

What do you use the ST and Genoa lemons for which regular lemons are not good enough?

Suzu, thanks..They are sticky traps (originally used for catching mice) that I use at the base of the citrus to help catch fruit flies and gnats. Works great for catching those pesky little buggers!! I don't know if they would also help with spider mites.. Yet!! :D

Laura, yes, the ST leaves are really huge and beautiful ! Ine of my ST has a lot of fruit on it, but, I know most will fall off. I hope at least a few stay on..Someday you will have a Genoa Lemon, I just know it! :D

Vladimir, I have not tried a ripe fruit yet from either.. When my order arrived from Four Winds they each had green fruit attached and most fell off during transit, or I picked them off. I left one lemon on the Genoa. I did the scratch and sniff test on the rinds and wow!! They both smelled amazing! I know they both have a high oil content in the rind. You don't get that smell from a grocery store lemon.. lol. But, I imagine you use the lemons the same, but heard the Mediterranean lemons have a stronger lemon flavor contained in the juice and rind.. makes a great Limoncello. . So I hear.. :)

I've heard that as well Vladimir. The Mediterranean lemons are supposed to have a very high oil content in the peel - more so than Meyers for example. Although they do not have as much juice per lemon, the flavor is stronger. I think the ST, although finicky (mine is), is a beautiful tree. I cannot wait to taste a lemon someday. Harris sells the Bearss lemon that is also called the Sicilian lemon, which is supposed to be excellent in the oil quantity and flavor of the rind.

Laura, I am patiently waiting to get mature lemons to taste from my Santa Teresa's. I have two, and one is growing like a champ, and the other one that is bearing fruit is a bit more finicky, like yours.. :)

My Bearss Lemon tree is so beautiful. The leaves are a beautiful shade of green. So far it has not blossomed, so no fruit set, but it is concentrating on growing roots, leaves and stems. It is a fast grower. I read it is a heavy bearing fruit producer.. Hard to believe this is the same young tree I ordered just earlier this summer. The canopy and trunk have shown a lot of growth.. I set the trees outside again yesterday for another hose down and some sunshine.. We have cold and snow today...I love this tree.. You should think about getting one.. lol

Not the best picture, but look! Here it is just past mid November and we still have honey bees...Amazing!! I took my citrus outside for one last hose down and a bit of sunshine yesterday and the bee appeared within minutes... :) Also hard to believe it was sunny and in the high sixties yesterday, and this morning it is cold and snowing outside.. lol

Honey bees still??? That's crazy. I think after today it's going to feel more like winter there Jinny, am I right? They are talking 30's and 40's here starting tomorrow..I am so bummed..You can always count on winter coning in even though you wish every day it would hold off..((( They are talking snow here on Thanksgiving Day!

Mike, my bees are out as well! As long as it is above 48-50, they will be out. They work hard! When I had my trees out to spray during the mite cleansing, they were all over the citrus blossoms!

It's going to be a cold week here. High of 78 average and a low of about 46-48 degrees. Gonna have to pull out the old parka.

Laura, I still have two orange trees that have yet to come in.. I brought them in the one night it dipped down to the 20's. They have seen the 30's by night and survived, but they look the the leaves got hard and tough...No growth but still better than inside..They sure gots all the sunlight they could against the house in the back facing south...I think it is finally time for them to stop playing..Poor things. I am glad you got to spray for the mites. I hope that is ok..

No no no, not me, lol, that's genuinely cold for us. We will have our coldest weather in the last week of December and the first week of January where we will probably dip into the upper twenties at night for a couple weeks. Then we'll start warming up and by early February, I will start fertilizing again and the citrus will be blooming and carrying next years fruit. Winters are short here and every year they seem to get shorter with the non existent global warming issue.

Yesterday, honeybees and 70 degrees..Today, 26 degrees and snow..We broke out the parka's ! :)

I left one of my Meyer Lemons outside for the past month. We had lows of 26 degrees at least four times since.. The tree is on my deck next to the house and lost most of its leaves, but is still alive. This is just an experiment to see how well it does at those cold temperatures. So far, so good! The snow will act as an insulator, but I will bring it in if the temperature drops below that..

UGH UGH UGH.......More like it! I told you that you were going to feel like winter today..Disgusting to be so early..To think that we have 3 months more already..I am already tired of it..It snowed just 40 miles west of me at about 6 inches of snow from what I heard..It was in the 30's there while I was still basking at 50..Then all of a sudden an hour ago, the sky got grey and the wind gusted to at least 50 miles per hour..Now it feels more like 30's..It has been dropping about 3 degrees per hour...Oh boy. At least every tree I have is inside some place or another and the only things left outside partially buried are my Sweet Olive tree and my Camellias...

Geeze! I'm not going to get any sympathy for two light frosts! Hang in there y'all!

Yikes Jinny re the snow!!! My bees were out a couple of weeks ago and we are still very unseasonably warm- still no snow. I'm sure that will be changing in a jiffy lol.
