Windwalker is the cultivar name of both an Andropogon gerardii and a Salvia. I expect the OP was asking about the Salvia.

Wtndwalker Red sage gets really leggy in the subtropical southeastern states. It does much better in xeric states which have cold summer nights.

I received 2 very small ones and will be trying them out in San Diego.

I planted one this spring, and though I did not expect it to do much this year, it has grown considerably and is flowering. Very striking. Even if it gets leggy and flops some, it will still look stunning with the very blue grasses (Little Blue Stem--Schizachirium scoparium) it's planted near.

After the longest stretch of cold weather in many, many years and no snow cover, I'm hoping 'Windwalker' has survived.

Still waiting, but it's still early, None of the other western Salvias have shown new growth yet.
