Are you planning on incorporating a TV set into this room?

This is tricky due to the windows. Do you have measurements of room inside the stairway area? I am thinking if a TV is going in this room, we need to start there. Before you buy anything, (yea!) I can do a room layout and give you specific ideas of pieces and sizes so you wind up with optimum use of space. Just need some measurements and where the windows are located.

Start with a rug, that will determine your color palette. 2 sofas, 1 where the black one in the picture is and 1 on the wall with 2 windows. When you decide on TV size get a console at least 25% wider than TV and center it on the wall (from corner to upper railing) where the chest is. Then a chair in corner near the lower railing. End table & lamp at corner where 2 sofas meet, a coffee table, some art and your good to go
