There are 35 to 40 thousand orchid species around the world. Most are epiphytes, (air plants), however there are 200 terrestrials. So your question is no different than how much is a pig in a poke. Nobody knows. How big is the pig and is it spoiled? Those 200 could be on most of the continents. I'm sure the care would be varied...And there is so much more you could provide. Like a picture. The environment you want to grow it. Light. air movement, fertilizers and you figure more. The less you tell the less likely to have any answer. Give us lots of info...work at it!

There are many thousands of terrestrial orchid species. The Op probably has a Bletillia striata, in which case the crucial bit of info. needed is "in a pot or planted in the garden?"

Here is the name Stenorrhynchos speciosum - painted leaf orchid terrestrial care wet and cool 75% shade when growing and blooming. Deciduous, loses leaves after blooming. At that stage enters dormancy; do I continue care the same or switch to no water, or slightly moist until new leaves emerge? Very little info online about this one.

Growing for now on a windowsill pulled back about 4 inches early morning diffused sunlight. In dormancy I want to move it to my greenhouse in shady area temps from 75 to 55F. On cement floor which is cool. Large area fan during daytime. Heated at night.
