How else will you clean it?

Awwwh, Sophie - I love my rain head - lovely warm water flowing gently over the body - what's to dislike? And the pressure is just fine. And so are the efficiency ratings. All of that said, I'd also agree with a rail shower, and I have no idea what the other whuzzits are.

I agree with Sophie. We skipped the rain shower head after realizing it didn't rinse out the shampoo well enough and just left our heads itchy.

And I agree with Kris -- handhelds make cleaning the shower so much easier. Also they work if you ever have an injury or get disabled or just plain old and need to sit to shower.

hand held are a must to rinse the shower after cleaning. And it's nice for the dog washing. or kids. or a quick rinse off when you don't want to get your hair wet.

Okay, I keep reading all these complaints about rain showers. Is it something to do with different regulations in the US than where I live in Australia? Because water pressure and rinsing hair is definitely not an issue for us, and that's with a high water efficiency rating for the shower head. We have both a rain shower and a rail shower, one at each end of the shower (big shower space) but it's the rain shower that gets used every day for the actual showers because it's just sooooo good.

Well, if you are in Calif, they put a restriction on the flow of the shower head. So, yes. Rinsing w/a rain head that's been regulated in Calif is horrible. There isn't enough pressure.
