Hoarded Thanksgiving roses

These were part of what was cut Nov. 12th and hoarded in refrig for Thanksgiving. Did you do it , too? If so, please add your pictures.

Thank you, Kentucky. I wouldn't have known to cover them with a produce bag. I'm going to try it once the Thanksgiving leftovers are out of my fridge. So often I have some lovely roses for a bouquet, and think, " I wish they would have waited until next week, or Friday, or when company is coming". I'm really happy you've shared this! I learn something new all the time on here. Thank you very much. Making bouquets for indoors is one of the main reasons I grow roses. Lisa

They look great! Do you do anything special to them other than keeping them in the fridge? I never thought of doing that but I love the idea of being able to save them for a special occasion. So often the timing is off. My fridge is awfully crowded though:) Lisa

Thanks, everyone. I put Chrysalis in the water and a plastic bag over them. The plastic bag that I like to use best is the green one in Kroger's produce section. Also, I did recut them about 5 - 7 days ago and fresh water.

BTW, I still have some more stored (hoarded) in refrig. They will only last so long even there.

Lisa, Last year, I had some cucumbers in refrig and was going to toss them, but they were still good...then I realized it must be the produce bags and started using them for roses whenever I can instead of regular plastic bags. Here's some more of the hoarded roses cut 11/12. I recut and arranged these this morning in garage and my fingers got so cold. The Baby's Breath is Festival Star cut this morning.

I still have one more hoarded container in refrig...lol
