I finally realized a few years ago that I hate having stuff on my hands, which is probably why I hate cooking and gardening! It's funny how these things can dawn on you later in life. :)

Navy blue! Bah! I'm with you there, Rita. I wore a navy blue uniform for eight years in grade school, and I still dislike the color.

Maybe take a little break from your quilting, or else, just power on through. You're so close now. Think of a gift to give yourself when you finish. Wine? Chocolate? More fabric in your favorite color? You can do it!! Go, Girl!!

I understand your pain.....I won't do quilts with a lot of black in them. I did one small paper pieced Amish-style wall hanging years ago and I said "never again!"

The quilt does sound lovely, so do please finish it. We're all behind you and then you never have to do a navy blue quilt again --- EVER!

Will be saying "Help her to overcome the navy blue!" (perhaps if you put on your rose colored glassese, you'll see a gorgeous and deep purple???? a Night Sky can be all kinds of things - depending on your mood!). and add more shooting stars!! They are millions of years old, yet bring us so much hope!

Oh Rita - what a bummer! Hang in there and finish it. If you don't love it when it is finished, there may be someone in your family that likes navy blue and it would be the perfect gift. Keep going!

Ohhhhhhh, how beautiful......navy blue with silvery shooting stars crossing the night sky. Can't wait to see it! Think about what enamored you with this pattern in the beginning. What drew you to it? Dismiss the thought of hating navy blue while working on it and pick it up again when completed. lol

I had to search way back to find the name of it, the Rising Star Quilt that was on Missouri Star Quilts. I pieced all the stars with icy blues, greens, purples and icy whites. I wish I had thought a little harder on the background. Here's a pic of what they have online.Rising Star Quilt

Love the pattern and I completely understand why you are having trouble with that much navy blue. You can do it! Finished is better than perfect.
