Trees disinfected + pics...

I took out the four trees in my son's room outside yesterday and disinfected them today. We have had two warm days with intermittent rain, so they should be happy. I also decided to take out all but the guava out of my kitchen area because those were the ones that had mites. I saw some suspicious webs on a few in the other room and took them out just to be cautious. I sprayed all of them today with a mixture of HO, neem, rosemary oil, pro-tekt, and FP...quite a concoction! I was pleasantly surprised that a few had blooms I had not noticed. I took pics...here they are!

Alexander looking as handsome as always. He has shed a few old leaves inside, but is growing everywhere and blooming.

Your trees look good, Laura. I hope with all that spraying you took care of the mite problem..

You may recall that when I received my Sudachi from Four Winds it also had a nutrient deficiency and yellow leaves that kept dropping. It had a few nice fruit that matured and after I picked the ripe fruit off the tree kept dropping leaves. Nothing I did helped my barenaked lady, but now it is budding and leafing out pretty quickly. The leaves look good so far. Your tree may just end up shedding all of the leaves and going through the same cycle as mine. Here are a few pictures that I took earlier today.

Not trying to hound you guys with pics...but here are a few more ;-)
My seville sour orange (above another Meyer)
Now for my problem child: the sudachi. This tree looked very light green and weak when I got it this summer from FW and nothing I have done has improved it. It has continued to decline. The only positive note is that on a couple of branches, it is sprouting blooms. I feel like it is the black sheep of the family!
See the tiny buds?? I hope it is sign that it will improve eventually.

Thanks Jinny! You give me hope. It does have a few buds, so I hope it turns like yours. These were obviously problem trees. Kind of annoying from such a reputable vendor. And my Kishu from the same shipment is in similar condition and also looked weak (and barely had roots).

Laura, come on, you of all people should know that we can never hound each other with "too many" pics. The more the merrier! In that close-up pic with Alexander's blossoms, I could practically smell the blossoms! Speaking of merrier, Jinny, I heard a Barenaked Ladies Christmas song on the radio yesterday and I thought about your two little trees, lol. Funny how the things others say here trigger thoughts in our own daily lives. Its new leaves are growing in quickly, good job!

Yep agree with Jinny that the sudachi will rebound with new leaves better equipped for your environment. They all look amazing Laura! I can't wait to have a beast of a meyer like Alex! I'm excited to growm my meyer cutting in 511 right from the get go... I am hoping that will encourage better vigor vs all my other trees that have to go through the repotting and readjustment period.

Watch that chinotto closely for scale and mites.... I let the scale get the better of mine and that's what did it in last year I am pretty sure. Once the tree has it it is really hard to eradicate it because of how close set the leaves are and how bumpy the stems are. I can't wait to get my replacement in spring!

Laura, just wonderful and great work!! The coloring on your trees is quite amazing and I always drool over them...

Please. let us know how the flowers held up after spraying those oils? And if they do hold up, can you share the amounts of each ingredient you used so that others will not fear loosing their buds after spraying?

Just beautiful and keep up the good work! Will you be doing another mass spraying soon?

Thank you Mike and Hobby! Hobby, I sprayed it because I saw webs on a nearby tree, so I wanted to preemptively treat. Mike, i have no plans for another major spraying outdoors unless there is a need. It is quite a hassle to bring them in and out. Alexander is soooo heavy! He lost a lemon bc he barely fit through the door. It was ripe so it's ok :-). I have been doing what you suggested which is spraying a light solution periodically. So far, so good...
