As we hope to have our house on the market next spring I am not adding plants. I also like Avant Garde which I have growing with several other varieties. Curious to how you are using yours, both the established plant and these new ones.

Thanks for sharing, Michaela! I just added one AG from that sale since it's one I like also - that charming little tuft of pink that remains after the petals falls extends the effective bloom time. My clematis from Bluestone have all grown well, even when left in a pot ghetto for a while before planting. You can also order various things over the winter and have them all added up into one order.

I have my current one growing up a short trellis and from there into shrubs.

I have mine growing up a curved trellis near the back of my garden. It's young so it's not established yet but the blooms are so pretty I knew I wanted a few more. I have a tendency to feel like gardens don't have enough height unless they have trellises with clematis growing up them so I will be sprinkling these AG's around my gardens with obelisks for them to grow up. Would love to see both of yours since mine is still a baby.

That is good to know about bluestone adding to your order, how nice of them. I will have to check out their other clematis, I only looked at the ones that were in the sale. :)

They usually have a few things on sale (sometimes clems and sometimes not) off and on all winter, so if you get on their email list you hear about them.

Sorry, checked and AG wasn't blooming in the photo of the area last year.

My AG is in a shrub bed, and as with many of my clematis, it starts up a smaller trellis and then moves onto a nearby shrub.

I like it as far as general info on Clematis. Sometimes color of images are a bit off, and there are a fair number of plants listed that aren't available commercially in the US (or for some, anywhere) but it's the best resource I've found both to look for plants with a particular set of characteristics or to look up a particular cultivar. If you look up a plant by name, don't use both words in a two word name - it doesn't like spaces, but will find it with just one word or even part of a word.
