I have 4 x 5 so it all sort of works together with side jets, rain head at one end and hand held with rotating options on the head at other. Two rainheads is overkill and don't work for everyone. I like the pressure and height of the hand held (set for me) and he needs the super tall rainhead. I agree that in 3. 5 x 7 I would keep one end dry - do a bench across the end - tile or teak or solid surface and don't forget the recessed boxes for stuff . . otherwise they fill the bench.

we are redoing ours now. at 4X7, it's pretty big. How often to you shower at the same time, really. I'm lucky to get enough water pressure w/one large shower head, let alone all the other stuff. I've also decided on a teak bench at the far end.

nnigrt,,,,where did you find your bench and how big is it? any issues? I was think of building my own, but teak is crazy expensive right now.

its not big...got it from Frontgate, they were having a free shipping deal.

To be the naysayer, a shower that big can be cold and drafty, especially in northern climes, so maybe it's a decision to have a smaller shower, or yes, have multiple shower heads. If your water pressure can take it, you may find it more comfortable.

I would use some of that space to add a bench to one side instead of the double rain shower.

A shower takes me ten minutes max. One of you can't wait ten minutes to shower? A wall mount with a rain sized "head" and a shower spray seems more than enough

Ohhhhhhhhh Sharing........!! Since it's one of the very last oases of peace and quiet left on planet earth? As dear old dad used to say "How 'bout we say we did, and let's don't!" lol

Most of my clients who insisted on a huge shower have told me the thing is cold unless all the heads are on when they are by themselves and honestly the idea of showering together was more a dream than reality most of the time

Yeah, showering together was some nice chat time before the Arrival of Kid(s). I hope we can get back to it someday, but it's a logistical rarity right now. Still, we both fit under the one head (in turns) and in 5 feet of length...

re: drafty.... no, its not. we have a combination heater/vent in the ceiling for winter use, run it on heat when showering, change the switch to vent after toweling off, works great. even with the 5 1/2' of open side, its warm as toast in there.
