I think the comment was just about the kind of star like shape. But I don't think anyone would confuse the two flowers.

I do hope I get more flowers as the plant matures. ThIs is its first blooming so it is still young.

I took some updated pictures. The flowers are also fragrant!

Here is a pic.of a double prize winner at a winter show.here. Judged by AOC Judges, AOS Judges may be looking for different good and bad points.

A lot of seedlings flower with good flowers but never have a good flower count which you get on Den. speciosum.

Needless to say this orchid gets rid of the myth that the judges will ignore no name orchids.

Thanks for providing the picture. It's always good to see what good looks like. We don't get very many Australian dendrobium in our shows here in Northeast Ohio. I am not really familiar with what the AOS judges are looking for with these.

Although I often put my plants in shows, I really don't participate much in judging. If something gets pulled that would be great. But I've never submitted anything. Several members of my Society do. So there is always an option if I ever have a plant that is worthy of it.

Darlene, how are you growing this? Are you using lights or just window light?

Impressed by the amount of flowers on such a young plant.

Thanks! This is currently under lights. However it was outside from May to early November in a pretty hight light area. It received close to full morning sun and partial sun the rest of the day when it was outside. I am positive the sun exposure is what helped with the blooms.
