It could be. Is the door location very cold or drafty? Also remember they require even less water if it's cool where they are. The sun changes position in the winter too, so if the sun is hitting those leaves it may have been a factor. Hard to say for sure. I would move it to a warmer local if you have one and make sure it's not getting too much water.
