Thanks everyone for your input and help in arranging my living room. When I get the furniture I will take a photo and show you how it turned out.

I need some more input on another issue. The previous owners put up a wall separating the dining area from the living room, creating an office/ nursery/ den. The area is small, 7'x7' or 2.1m x 2.1m. I am inclined to tear the wall down and open up the space again but wanted to hear other opinions before I do anything.

The first photo is my unit as it is now.
The second one is from a similar unit without the wall.
