Probably not a good plan. Unless you're there all day to only put it out when the temperature is in the upper 40s or higher and take it back in, which would probably limit the time outside in the sun.

You should probably keep your seedlings inside until they are trees and better able to deal with temperatures.

I don't mind keeping them inside at all. I just worry they won't get proper sunlight. Any ideas?

Quite a few people in this forum use grow lights. There are a couple threads with advice.

Ok. I think I have some old aquarium lights, just need to get some bulbs.

The sun shines om my plants for 16 hours a day through out the fall, winter, and spring.

second picture from bottom shows air pulled through trees root with a vacuum bucket and cleaner. Works great on winter soggy soil.

What kind of bulbs are you using?

23 watt day light CFL's. You can also use spot and flood lights if your trees are not enclosed as mine are. I have most of my trees outside in ground under glass.

the set up for this year.first level has beets under lights to provide a warm base for the citrus plants above.

As long as the roots are above 55F-60F you can heat the area with lights shining down on the foliage.

I'm going to set up a shelf and either run cf or t12 on my setup. Should the lights be any particular kelvin level.

don't waste your money on T12 lighting use something like T8 or BR40 CFL - 23 Watt - 5000 Kelvin.

Ok. I'm glad you told me that. Was going to go buy some this weekend. Also how far above the seedlings do you put the light? Also can I just put the br40 in a shop light reflector?

A 23 watt CFL can be just 4 inches from the leaves.

I just got my seeds germinating last night. Going to try and get a spot ready to for them to go under the lights when they are ready. Can you think of anything else I may need to do?

here are my seeds.

At this time of year the heater duct is the best place to start seeds. Use a container with a lid and fill the container up with potting soil to 1.5 inches of the top. place the seeds in and cover with another 1/2 inch. Close the container and place in your heating duct. Check after 1 week then every 3 days afterwards. Remove any trees that are 3/4 in before they hit the container lid. The roots are simple so you can start 50 seeds in on container with out entanglement. You can place the plants under a desk lamp fitted with a CFL bulb of 23 watts daylight rating. leave should not come any closer than 2 inches. I keep my leave at least 4 inches.

That's A good idea. The only problem I have is my ducts are on the ceiling. I'm definitely gonna do the lamp on my desk for the seedlings
