A question for linen sheet users.

I am fed up with trying to find quality cotton sheets that fit my split king 10" mattresses. After countless sheets ripping, splitting, and getting worn out threadbare spots within a year, I have decided to try linen. But after reading many reviews I am concerned that they will not work for me. I have read that the fitted sheet will not stay tight, that they will wrinkle and bunch up in the center of the fitted sheet. Is this true? Just FYI, I have narrowed it down to linoto brand linen sheets. (And I have read some reviews of linen sheets getting holes and rips too. Ugh, very frustrating.)

Linoto fitted sheets are amazing! I have a king tempurpedic. I have used Rough Linen sheets for 2 years, and the quality is outstanding, but she doesn't make a fitted sheet. So I used 2 flats and had to tuck in the bottom. I learned about Linoto and ordered a fitted sheet at the beginning of September. It has never once come untucked. I think it is even a bit softer than my Rough Linen, but definitely as thick. Oh and a little whiter. I plan to buy the second fitted sheet as soon as there's a good sale (where I don't have to spend $250 to take advantage of the sale). I now use Linoto fitted on the bottom and Rough Linen flat on the top. :)

I will add a little that I know...if your used to cotton sheets Linen will take getting used to as it feels completely different from cotton. Linen will also take numerous washings to start to feel great...Linen also requires ironing, you may find a system like partial drying in a machine than line drying but they still won't be smooth and Linen wrinkles a lot. I'd be prepared to iron them, however 100% cotton sheets also wrinkle a lot and feel much better after ironing.

Can you send to one of the manufactures for a linen sample? I know Rough Linen will send linen samples out.

Finding great sheets today can be a real chore even spending big $$$ is no promise of quality. Good Luck

Hi Mama P! I have to say, I prefer NOT ironing my linen. It made the sheets stiff. You should never dry all the way, but IF YOU DO, they will actually be softer than if you don't. It won't hurt them to dry them all the way, but they will be wrinklier. My 2 year old Rough Linen doesn't really feel any different than when it was new. Linen sleeps warm when you need warm and cool when you need cool. No more waking with drenched sheets from night sweats! I'm a huge proponent and that's all we sleep on now.

Debbi, I went to the Linoto website and she shows fitted sheets in all sizes and colors. On this page.

Thank you My3dogs. I have the Linoto fitted sheet. He (Jason) makes them in all sizes and colors. It's Rough Linen (Tricia) who does not make a fitted sheet; only flat sheets.

Hi Debbi, hope all is well with you...I do remember how lovely your bed looked with your linen and I'm still dreaming lol.

angie, not sure if this will help, but I have inexpensive 100 percent linen sheets from Zara on my new(ish) Costco memory foam mattress (Serafina Pearl), and the fitted sheet stays in place and doesn't bunch up, and my husband and I are fairly restless sleepers. No, I don't iron the sheets : ) .

I've also had very good luck with the Ralph Lauren percale sheet sets I've found recently at Winners/TJ Maxx here in Canada, both in terms of sheet quality and staying put on the mattress.

Could it possibly be your washing machine that's the problem?

Thank you all for the info.

Becky, that is exactly what I wanted to know! If the fabric stretched and started bunching in the middle under me while I was trying to sleep, well...that would drive me crazy. Lol

Linen is amazing in both feel and look( not ironed)). Nothing stretches, nothing comes off. When I was little we used to have these rough linen sheets..nowadays they make them soft and luxurious. I have only one set, my absolute favorite of all..(others are high quality cotton)..will definitely save for more.
