Also, check with your water provider to see if they use Chloramine in their water processing systems. If so, you will need to find another water source (i.e. jugged Spring water from the grocery), ... as Chloramine will kill your plant.

In the meantime, ... is the plant getting enough sunlight or fluorescent light (from around a foot distance) ?

Are you watering sparingly, ... only when the plant's soil has almost dried ?
