This is such a great orchid. Oddly, mine bloomed late summer through early fall this year. This is the first time it bloomed so early. I am not sure why.

Seeing yours make me missed my December blooms.

Beautiful Harvey! My Mom grew a gorgeous plant on almost total neglect. Seemed like it was in bloom continually. I brought it home after she passed away and darn it, it died.

It was a big plant and this is the first blooms since divided. 3 bulbs have 2 spikes and one with one for a total of 7. It seemed stimulated with 4 new growths right after divided. I might have got lucky on the timing...

While searching for a couple tropicals, I came across a Hwrra. Three inch net pot, in bloom. Quickly purchased it without bothering to ask all the important questions. This poor tiny, tiny plant has two spikes. I've already done a partial repot into some fresh Sphag. I'll remove the tiny spikes and hopefully with some TLC Baby will develop roots and grow.

I think the moss may drown it. Mine is mounted and happy...

Your plant is indeed happy!!! The moss it came planted in was slimy, way past needing to be replaced.. I have moss packed very loosely and later whenever it starts a new growth I will decide how to repot it. I am not home on a daily basis and can't have plants that need daily watering.

I grew this plant when I lived in NY. Lovely little plant, good bloomer. I grew it in Sphag and it was very happy. I think it could work for you, Sheila if you are careful about watering. I mixed some small bark with the sphag to keep it open.
