I planted new Guava in March of this year. It grew a lot. I wasn't here this summer, by fall it had multiple stems and branches that needed to be pruned off. It is still getting new leaves, however, many of the older leaves are turning yellow and falling off. In addition the leaves - all accept the very new - just coming in - have reddish-brown spots that cover about half the leaf. This is not insect related. I have sprayed for fungus, but don't feel this is fungus either. I don't know if they get anything like apple scab or other bacterial diseases. I also thought dificiency, but can't find any that fit description. I have checked all over web and pictures - descriptions don't seem to help. I read ph is pretty flexible for Guava.This is in the heart-land if Florida. I don't know if Guava should be on citrus site to get response, its not really citrus, I guess. I am from Ohio and pretty much know what affects all plants there, but this is a problem for me.
