I made cuttings, and removed the rootball, of a near-death aff. diversifolia. Tossed the rootball in a pot with no media other than what it had left on the roots. Planned to throw it out, but it got forgotten. It is now regrowing vines and I used the rootball to root a couple of cuttings of stubborn species that were almost lost over the summer.

They really are more resiliant than we think. I think over-care is the biggest hoya killer, after over-watering.

I'm still very confused.. :P But it's not your fault, Sometimes I struggle to understand photos and stuff. Sorry if I sound stupid, do you put cuttings into a root ball of another hoya?

Yes :) I find that cuttings sharing a pot with rooted, established plants, seem to root faster. The only part I dislike about this method is the removal of the rooted cuttings. I only use this method of rooting if I have another hoya ready to be repotted soon. That way, when the cuttings are rooted and ready to be put in their own pots, I can go ahead and remove the mature plant, along with the rooted cuttings, separate the roots of both, put the mature plant in it's new pot, and pot up the cuttings.

I'm going to file that bit of info away! Sounds useful.
