I'm not sure what these onions are. There are walking onions, multiplier onions and bunching onions that should be fairly easy to find. I got seeds (yes, seeds) for multiplier onions at this site.

I looked up the scientific name you provided. They have a thread on them, over in the Homegrown Goodness forum Everlasting Onions . Haven't seen them, personally. I suspect you might get some yet. Also, though they are very different from the everlasting onions, the Egyptian multiplier (walking onion) types might fill your need very well. They are extraordinarily hardy for our hot summers. Periodically I have to raze patches of them in my garden, as they tend to multiply more than I need. Yet, at this time of the year, it is really nice to go out and cut the leaves to add to stews, soups and stir fry. Most anyone on this forum could probably get you a start.
