I have same issue! I've been researching like crazy. It's easy to find 30 -34 inch tables (tall), but lower than 30 is harder. I saw this one from World Market that I am considering. .....

Look at the sofa from behind it and place some boxes that fill up the space you intend. I think you will find, it will look better leaving open space on either end and you will still be able to place a lamp on one this length. A long one will be too much for the room size IMO. Just try that trick and see what you think. It is a good way to "see" what volume a piece might have.

@kcg -The pottery barn ones you posted above, I am looking at, too. Leaning toward the glass one since I have so much wood and also bronze (brown tone) lamps.
