Hi, this is painted brick. I don't recall the color, but it is a sherwin williams color that was selected in the grey tones. Brick is just a standard size red brick. I actually ordered the least expensive since it was going to be painted anyway. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your quick reply. I am looking for a varied gray brick for an exterior of a contemporary home. I thought it would be easy to find... but I am realizing it is not so easy :)

it's really not easy. We put 8 different samples on different sides of the house to see how light would hit it at different angles and then we took a vote and this color won! I would definitely put a number of samples on the brick and let it soak in for a few days so that the color sets and you can decide then. Also, it depends on the time of day and how the sun hits the house, how much shade there is, etc.
