Is this passiflora edulis fruit?

While walking home, I passed a house with a passiflora vine. The pavement in front of the house was littered with lots of fallen leaves and rotting fruit. The vines themselves were pretty much bare except for some last remaining yellow leaves and some dried and-or shriveled up fruit.

I don't know if this vine is normally deciduous or not but it sure looked it. Skipping forward, I brought home with me one of the shriveled fruits that was on the pavement and two of the leaves that had blown away. Id like to sprout the seeds that are inside the fruit but I don't know the variety.

From google images it looks most like P. edulis to me but then again I'm no expert. Can anyone help id it? Also will these seeds require any form of stratification? Below, I have included pictures.

Definitely looks like an edulis or one of it's many cultivars/hybrids. Seeds should germinate well when they are fresh, although they can take 30-90 days to fully germinate.

Thanks passiefarm. Wow 30-90 days seems like a long time to wait . I cleaned, soaked for 24 hours and put the seeds in a ziplock bag on a wet paper towel. I hope that will do. Maybe I should file the seed with a nail file or chip the seed coats with a nail clipper?

I take half my seeds and soak them in tomatoes juice the other half in strong black tea for 24 hours. Not sure which works.

No doubt growing many plants from seeds takes lots and lots of patience and having grown tree peonies that can take two years to see the first leaves, and also passiflora mollissima that had package directions saying it could take a year for the seeds to sprout lol, there's sometimes the odd situation where all conditions being ideal for the harvesting and planting of freshly harvested seed , those same seeds might sprout in just days or weeks instead of months or years. My passiflora seeds did come up I think in under two weeks and then from then on and after years of trying different approaches I never did get the darn plants to bloom , and finally tossed them much to my disappointment .
