That's great Michael! When I sprouted my seedlings, I was advised here to 1. Do not water at night, and 2. Water from the bottom - fill a container with water (I use a glass baking pan) and sit it inside till it absorbs the water. Good luck!!

I also lift the tree up so that a half inch of root is exposed. This prevents the tender green trunk from damp off. The roots don't suffer from damp off

Thanks For the tips Laura, will definitely keep those in mind. Citrusguy I have heard that about the the roots. It makes me nervous though because my light seems to dry out the roots quicker that way. Seems to be working good for me though I just keep a close eye on them.

I guess winter is a good time to do these things. A few days back I planted 4 seeds of moro. They are very stingy with their seeds. Two seeds max per fruit. I did what I do with all seeds and cuttings - 511 mix with sometimes a tiny layer of pine/peat dust on top to hold in moisture. Two had seed coat removed. Nothing sprouted yet though. If they don't I will just have to consume more of them. These days the stores here are flooded with moro and cara-cara. We do not normally find them in such quantities.
