I had just started noticing the different species of sansevieria and bought a few online when I noticed this and a s. Masoniana that they were selling as part of a greenhouse clean-up. I bought both and have been following the advice of the very knowledgeable and sharing people/members here:) -J

Nice picture, first I've seen this one. Please take another picture when fully in flower.

Also flowered from terminal sprout so it will stop growing new leaves but by no means it will die right now and will produce lots of new sprouts at base.

Here it is flowering. Just faintly scented.

This is a new one for me. I would keep it like it is for now and after flowering, and when many new shoots appear, then maybe re-pot.

I'm just starting with different sans and this one looked at me and said can you also buy me and my masoniana friend in an equally large pot .... we need a home ...sigh..how could I say no....:) Seriously, it was in a corner and looked so majestic and beautiful. The inflorescence was a surprise!

That is spectacular! What a magnificent inflorescence! It looks like a candelabra of flowers. I'm not sure that it is ehrenbergii though. Mine looks different with very thick leaves. Yours seems less so but who knows, maybe mine is marked incorrectly. Great growing though!

I once had a very similar one and the new flowers would open up in the late afternoon about the same time. The unopened flowers would vibrate briefly and then pop open. I took it to the office and it was delightfully distracting as small crowds would gather to watch and irritate the boss.

So, I thought it was barely scented, until I went out at night and was hit by a strong floral scent. Looking over I noticed the flowers were fully open. Is it possible the flowers open and sends out a scent at night? Anyway here are some pics of the flowers.

Look like typical Sans flowers but their arrangement is what makes it different. That has to be the largest group of flowers I have ever seen. Thanks for showing.

This flowers are so amazing! I'll have to poke around and see which Sans flower with that multi-branched inflorescence.

Imontestella is correct about the reasons it is so fragrant. Moths are the pollinators. White flowers so they are easy to find at night, fragrant as well. I don't know what kind of moth pollinates the flowers but I wouldn't be the least surprised if the moth looks somewhat like the flower. That happens often as well. Nature is so amazing! Nice growing!

This is an update. After flowering it did set some seeds, I stuck them in the soil around the mother plant. There are three pups and I took a close up of the largest one. Unfortunately still don't have an ID.
