Hilo beauty- should I even try?

I really like hilo beauty flowers and I would like to get one. My problem is, I'm in zone 6 and I've heard that it's a difficult one to root, even in tropical areas. We do get into the high 90s in summer, but only for a few weeks, then it's just really humid, 80 to mid 80 degrees for a while. I have heat mats and everything, but I don't want to waste money on a cutting that will definitely rot in my area. Or does anyone know where I can get a rooted one?

I'd order it for Spring delivery, and then use the clear plastic container method (so you can see roots) and supplemental heat to keep the medium you are using (cactus mix is what I use) warm. Here is a thread I found here: Hilo Beauty

Check Florida Colors or Brads Buds And Blooms.. Both in Florida and well respected!!

You can grow them will no problem!!

Give it a shot and see what happens. At least you know going into it that it will take months before you know if it roots. Maybe you can find an already rooted one for sale.
