Maybe it is just me but I cannot read any of the words on the drawing. I couldn't tell where the refrigerator and dishwasher will be. From the shapes alone, the only issues that I see is that there may be knees knocking at the corner of the island. Some posters have said that when the area behind the sink is too deep, they cannot reach it to clean it unless they get up on the countertop and almost crawl over to clean it. I'm not quite clear on how deep the area is behind your sink but I sure would not want to commit to a future cleaning problem.

I see a few problems. As empty nesters you're healthy now, but who knows what the future will bring. I would want landing space Next to my fridge and pantry so that I wouldn't have to pivot to take out or put away stuff.

Is there another place you could put the pantry?

I would definitely want the prep sink moved over so you could take stuff out of the fridge, put it down on one side, and then rinse and move it to the other side to be prepped.

You have no dimensions so we can only guess. Can you please post all dimensions and can you post how the kitchen relates to the rest of the space?

Are those cabinets to the counter on either side of the hood?

Since you are empty nesters I absolutely would not do cabinets but would make all lowers drawers.

The two corner seats will be knocking knees.

Where are you planning on spreading out when you bake?

When you have your mixer up, where are you standing to run it? On one side you have a sink, and on the other the edge of the island. Where are your ingredients?
